Puerto Rico’s Revolutionary Flag of Lares was designed by Independence Leader, Dr. Ramón Emeterio Betances and embroidered by Independence Leader Mariana Bracetti in 1868. It flew during El Grito de Lares, the first major revolt against Spanish colonial rule in Puerto Rico.
